Malibu Beach House
A modern home we designed in 2002, on a bluff overlooking the pacific ocean. The project has since evolved to its current state in 2015. Our client relationship has deepened over the years having worked on several projects together as well as designing an addition in 2008. A good home is something that grows with our lives, and can become an expression of our true depth and complexity...even within a modern aesthetic.

This fireplace design fits in with the larger concepts for the house. Simple bold forms are not overwhelmed by the homeowners collection of small objects and memorabilia. The project has since evolved as we have maintained a close relationship with the owner.

Our client has an extensive art collection that includes glass, ceramics and shells. We designed this wall with these 6 openings for the collection. Note that there is no opening behind the piano which was accommodated in the design. The project has since evolved as we have maintained a close relationship with the owner.

We designed the island to appear to float, and at the same time be an anchoring "mass" at the center of the large space. These candle holders really make this dining room, there's a clerestory above that is creating the reflected glow at the base of each candle. No it's not a stripe in the candle. The project has since evolved as we have maintained a close relationship with the owner.

This Master bathroom features a glass countertop. One piece of glass with 8 holes precision cut by waterjet. The project has since evolved as we have maintained a close relationship with the owner.

My client wanted a simple elegant powder room in this house we designed. We angled the countertop, back splash and even the wall below, still simple but also quite playful. The project has since evolved as we have maintained a close relationship with the owner.
